Posted: 18 May 2009 06:30 PM PDT and have owned my own home (FHA) for 25 years. I would lose 50,000 if I tried to sell this home right now, so will let my oldest kid live here for now! My credit was perfect until my divorce. At that time I was forced to file Chapter 13, for which I am in my 4th year. I want to follow my dream and move to the South west...Las vegas, etc. I am an advanced practice RN so employment opportunites are endless there. Do I stand a chance on getting another mortgage for a very inexpensive home...or even a foreclosed home? (or should I plan on renting) I have 2 small dogs so an apartment is probably out of the question. Should I have my husband apply for a mortgage? He makes only 1/2 my salary but has never owned a home before, hence the first time home buyer opportunity I hear on the news. We do not have the 20% as a down payment...any advice is appeciated...(except telling me to stay in Indiana) |

I am 8 months behind on our mortgage. Posted: 18 May 2009 04:48 PM PDT We owe $389K and its probably worth $200K if we are lucky...its BAD. We feel that foreclosure is our only option. We are moving to FL and we live in NV. My questions are: can they come after assets, garnish wages or come after another property? The house is only in my husbands name but I also own a home in only my name that we will keep. Also, what do you think we will owe in taxes the next year roughly? I know my husbands credit will be destroyed, what other negative factors come into play? Thanks! |
