Q: We are thinking about moving, but our house needs siding and a roof. The roof is not horrible, but should be redone soon. The siding is made of some type of composite. Above the garage doors, the gutters leaked and caused a hole above each door. My question is, should we just fix the holes and then put the house up for sale? Or should we go ahead and have the house sided and put in a new roof and gutters? Would it be worth it? -- e-mail.

Q: In our community, our developer planted pine trees in narrow 5-inch strips between residents' walls and our streets and sidewalks. I believe the trees are the property of the homeowners association. Along with the fact that these trees don't belong in the desert, the trees are shedding needles into our pools causing problems for pool pumps as well as the cleanup in our yards.

Hundreds of cyclists will ride through the streets of Summerlin and neighboring Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area today at the ninth annual Tour de Summerlin event. The cycling event kicks off this morning at 7 a.m. at The Vistas Community Park, 11311 Alta Drive. The noncompetitive ride is a tradition for many cycling enthusiasts throughout the valley -- regardless of their address. "Summerlin's abundant biking lanes, scenic views and proximity to Red Rock Canyon make it one of the best places to cycle in Las Vegas," said Randy McGhie, owner of McGhie's Ski Bike & Board and organizer of Tour de Summerlin.
