* WINDS: WIDESPREAD SOUTHWEST WINDS GUSTING BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH
WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA TODAY. GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH
WILL BE POSSIBLE IN FAVORABLE LOCATIONS FOR SOUTHWEST WINDS.

* TIMING: THE MOST FAVORABLE TIME FOR WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH
WILL BE EARLY THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING.

* IMPACTS: THE WINDS WILL CAUSE DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS
FOR LARGE TRUCKS...TRAILERS AND CAMPERS. BLOWING DUST AND
SAND MAY REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO NEAR ZERO FOR BRIEF PERIODS
OF TIME NEAR FAVORABLE AREAS SUCH AS DRY LAKE BEDS. THESE
WINDS WILL CREATE VERY CHOPPY WATERS AND GENERATE LARGE
WAVES ON OPEN WATERS WHICH COULD CAPSIZE OR SWAMP SMALL
CRAFT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT CROSSWINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE STRONG
ENOUGH TO MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE
VEHICLES. IN ADDITION...STRONG WINDS OVER DESERT AREAS COULD RESULT
IN BRIEFLY LOWERED VISIBILITIES TO WELL UNDER A MILE AT TIMES IN
BLOWING DUST OR BLOWING SAND. USE EXTRA CAUTION.

BOATERS IN THE WIND ADVISORY AREA SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION IF
VENTURING ONTO AREA LAKES. FOR YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY...AVOID THE
OPEN WATERS. STAY CLOSE TO SHORE OR AROUND PROTECTED AREAS.
