anyone know why the taxes seem to be higher in Henderson? I am in AZ buying in NV. Does tax assessment change when the house is recorded for new sale?

In AZ the tax is based on the sales price and then averaged out over the surrounding neighborhood. I am looking at foreclosure properties and the taxes seem to be at the assessed value for when the home was last solld. Do I have to wait until he next tax year revisions? or can I go directly to the city for a "redo"

Everyday Heros Awards – American Red Cross of Southern Nevada

Please join the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada in honoring this year's Everyday Heros. This is the fourth annual Red Cross recognition breakfast and awards ceremony honoring selfless acts of compassion and courage by everyday people in the Greater Las Vegas community. The awards will be presented at the Everyday Heros Breakfast on October 21st at 7:30 am at the Rio Hotel and Resort (located at 3700 West Flamingo Road just west of the I-15). The event will be held in the Brasilia rooms at the Rio Conference facility, which is behind the hotel on the north side of the building. This year the tickets are being sold in a new donation format whereby you set your own price to attend. Please give generously to the Red Cross through your ticket purchase and thank you for helping to recognize these outstanding local citizens.
