Is it possible to buy a condo in a guard-gated community for under $45k?

Posted: 23 Aug 2009 05:40 AM PDT

I want to buy a 1-2 bedroom condo for my own occational visits to Vegas. It should be in a safe neighbourhood, away from the Strip and in a guard-gated community. Safety is an important factor since I will not be living there most of the time and do not want to see my property to get broken into. I prefer west side of the Strip. I am willing to pay up to $45k for it. Is it possible to find a decent condo as described at this price? How much should I expect to pay the monthly HOA fee for a condo inside a guard-gated community?
